Some bedrooms need a lot of decorating. This one really doesn’t.
The vaulted shiplap ceiling and warm wood beams give the room so much character on their own that everything underneath can stay simple—soft ivory, pale blue, natural wood, and just enough brass to warm it all up.
When the architecture is this pretty, I’d let it do most of the work.
The ceiling is obviously the star here, so I wouldn’t put anything underneath it that tries too hard to compete.

This is also a room where I’d resist filling every empty corner just because it’s there. With the beams, shiplap, and tall windows already giving you so much to look at, a little breathing room is a good thing.
Soft blue is really the only color this room needs.
With white shiplap, cream upholstery, and warm wood already creating so much texture, I’d keep the color palette very simple.

Because it’s really the only noticeable color in the room, that little bit of blue has much more impact than it would if we repeated it on every surface. It gives the bedroom that relaxed coastal feeling without turning the whole room blue and white.

If you have the room, I love adding a comfortable chair to a primary bedroom. It gives you somewhere to sit with coffee, read for a few minutes, or, realistically, place the decorative pillows that are apparently not allowed to remain on the bed while anyone is sleeping.
That’s really all this room needs.
Beautiful architecture, comfortable furniture, a few warm wood tones, and one soft wash of blue. Nothing is trying particularly hard, which might be exactly why the whole room feels so peaceful.
