The Designer’s Story
One thing I noticed over and over when working with clients was that many people thought they needed a dedicated home office, when what they really needed was a comfortable place to work for a few hours each week.
A built-in workspace often makes much better use of the home's square footage. Whether it's at the end of a hallway, in a wide landing, or tucked into a bedroom, a thoughtfully designed nook can give you everything you need without sacrificing an entire room.
I also think people are more likely to actually use a workspace that's integrated into their everyday living areas. When it's convenient, it naturally becomes part of your daily routine.
The key is making the nook feel intentional. Built-in cabinetry immediately gives the space a custom look, making it feel like it was always meant to be there instead of looking like furniture that was added later.
Why This Room Works
Soft blue cabinetry gives the workspace its own identity while still feeling connected to the rest of the room. Warm brass hardware and lighting add contrast and warmth throughout the design.
